Message from the Director of Administration

"Our staff of over 100, of which 7 are currently based and working right in the communities all play a role in the success of the operation of FARHA."

Everyone who has worked in the healthcare field knows how important the role is as well how demanding meeting the challenges can be and those challenges are met from every Four Arrows member who serve the Anishininew Nations of Island Lake, but each staff take those challenges from the heart knowing that at the end of each day, the work they do is work towards healthier communities.

As the Director of Administration, is not so much as to do the delivery of the service but more to help those who are engaged in delivering the services to the individuals and communities. I am a part of a team that works in unity to continually strive forward. I work along side our Executive Director and Senior Management Team. As we live in a fast changing world and nothing is static we strategize on a monthly basis on what we can do to consolidate how and what Four Arrows Regional Health Authority does.

Our staff of over 100, of which 7 are currently based and working right in the communities all play a role in the success of the operation of FARHA.   And as it’s known, good management is needed to meet these challenges and I am honored and proud to work side by side with all of these very skilled and knowledgeable people.   My belief is that all staff have something to contribute and we all have a very important role in the continued success of FARHA.

"We recently started engaging our urban population, which has almost become a 5th nation in itself and with its own set of challenges."

Our Winnipeg sub-office recently made a major move last July which proved to be beneficial as we were able to create work spaces in collaboration with each staff which increased their efficiency of delivery of services. It was a lot of planning and development working towards that move but staff are happy to come to a work in an environment that has the Anishininew culture built in but at the same time very professional in sight.  We currently are working on now updating our Head Office, which is located at Wasagamack, as well in the future, we would like see Four Arrows RHA operate their own offices in each of the four communities

Lastly, we recently started engaging our urban population, which has almost become a 5th nation in itself and with its own set of challenges. As this grows, Four Arrows RHA involvement with the urban population will also grow and its only the beginning and to begin this process, of reaching both our local and urban population, revamping on how we communicate was a priority and designing how our webpage looks was the first step in this process. We hope you enjoy our new look and as it was said while in planning, this webpage is a “living” tool, meaning, we will continue to strive to update it and update our membership on what we are doing and how we are doing it.
